The 10' 5wt Orvis Helios 3F is one of our favorite rods for nymph from a boat, whether on a river or stillwater. The rod has a softer tip section which allows for easier loading and casting, regardless of the conditions. The extra length on it allows for easier casting at longer distances, superior mending, and extra tippet protection. This rod also has an incredibly thick butt section (practically a 7wt), allowing you to land fish of rather large size. Definitely a shop favorite for a big water/big fish nymphing stick.

No cast ever thrown is identical to any other cast ever thrown. The variables of caster, rod, and conditions are too great.
