Current River Conditions

February 28, 2023

Denver Water has been playing with the flows a lot recently coming from Cheesman Reservoir, and right now the flows are looking really good. Midges are going to be the main hatch nowadays so if you see no heads, be ready for the micro nymph rigs. Although, keep your eye out for Small Black Winter Stoneflies and Buffalo Midges, they offer the opportunity to throw some "bigger" flies during the winter season. Additionally, bigger food sources are getting knocked loose from their normal holding spots. Leading with a scud, leech, or egg on our nymph rigs has been the ticket when the Small Black Winter Stoneflies aren't working.
