Current River Conditions

April 28, 2024

Fishing has been decent as of late, and the crowds are beginning to thin. If you're going to head to the Dream right now be ready for lower counts of the trophy lake-run fish. They're still present, just not in the same numbers that they were a few weeks ago. If you're targeting the lake-run fish you can get away with using bigger flies since they're used to eating them in the lake. We like fishing an egg, leech, worm, Hare's Ear, or perdigon for these fish. There are lots of resident fish too, so if you aren't targeting "trophy fish" we like to fish the standard tailwater goodies for these fish. Midges and BWO's are hatching consistently. Dry fly opportunities are abundant throughout the day, but nymphing will certainly put up more numbers.
