Flows are fairly low on the South Platte below Cheesman Reservoir right now. Although these flows present very technical conditions, fishing has still been great. We're seeing BWO's and midges hatching consistently. If you're looking for a good dry fly bite, try to time your outing with poor weather; rainy, cold, overcast, and/or snowy days present the best dry fly fishing for the spring BWO's as the poor weather leads to longer periods for their wings to dry. Subtle lead flies, such as hare's ears and scuds, will be best while nymphing. Caddis have also been hatching rather consisently, giving a fresh new face on the water and producing excellent dry fly sessions regardless of the weather.
